Automotive Parts Website
A friend approached me for advice about the website that went with their family business. I did a quick review of their sight and gave suggestions. What I did for this project; Content Inventory, Layout Suggestion. On the day I was going over my review with the owner they did not know the password so we were able to go and make changes or look in SEO.
Homepage I didn't have much to stay about the homepage. I though she did a really nice keeping it clean with the simple picture used through out the site an big clear print.
Contact Originally the owner was thinking about starting an full e-commerce site and had wanted my opinion before starting. The site wasn't generating as much business as they has wanted.
Very simply, no where on the site were their instruction about how to order. That was an easy change to increase business.
There are social media links but they don't have any social media pages. I told them to make a quick Facebook and Google page. It can be very helpful to build networking among car groups.
About I thought they really need to personalize and add more info about themselves. Its super vague and are to tell if to this is a legit. It doesn't have to a life story but make it a little more personal. I said it should be like they were a trade show telling someone about their company; what truly makes them different from others, why they love cars, what part of the country are they in.
Services This page was pretty good. My preference would be to make sure this are aligned.
Parts I would like to see the parts be broke up into to columns. There really isn't a need to scroll for this. It could easily fit across a screen as two.
The buttons themselves take you to a PDF of their item. For the time it was too labor intensive for the owners to make pages for each of the categories. It would be cute if the buttons could be those parts on white background.
